Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open Open 24 hours. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.

I found Travis with 5T’s off of a Google search. He was the only mechanic to respond to my inquiry same day. He called to ask a couple questions to get an idea of what my issue might be, arrived within 25 minutes. Had me diagnosed and on my way in less than 10 minutes. Great, professional service. He’ll be my go to for any car issue going forward. Highly recommend.

Excellent service! I called to have my serpentine belt replaced, and he was able to come out the same day—within just a few hours of my call. He arrived on time, completed the repair efficiently, and made the entire process easy and convenient. Professional, dependable, and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable mobile mechanic!

I cannot recommend this mobile mechanic enough! My car broke down and he answered my call immediately. He showed up exactly when he said he would for the diagnosis and figured out the issue in literally less than a minute (it was the belt tensioner and AC compressor). Because he had a full day of other jobs, he promised to come back later and even though it was 8:30 PM, he was true to his word. I honestly wondered if it was too late for him, but he showed up with a fully equipped mobile shop on wheels that has every tool imaginable. He fixed everything way quicker than expected. What I appreciated most was how kind, honest, and upfront he was. He actually took the time to show me the old broken pieces and compare them to the new ones so I knew exactly what I was paying for. For the incredible quality of work, reliability, and late-night labor, his price was beyond reasonable. If you want an honest, skilled mechanic who actually keeps his word, this is your guy!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Life saver! I called 5TS Mobile Mechanic when my car wouldn’t start and they came to my house the same day. The diagnostics were spot on, and they had me back on the road in no time. Fair pricing, super friendly service, and it’s so convenient not having to tow anywhere. Highly recommend them for brakes, AC, oil changes – anything! Will definitely use them

I have this gentleman saved in my phone as “Genius Mechanic,” and I’d trust him with a $180,000 car over Porsche’s own service department. His turnaround time is a fraction of the dealership’s, the quality of his work is just as good—if not better—and he’s consistently honest and ethical. 5/5 stars. Simply the best.
